Melissa Dittmann Tracey is a journalist, blogger, and podcaster who stays ahead of the latest real estate and home design trends. She is the creator of the home design and staging blog — Styled, Staged & Sold, ranked the #1 home staging blog by FeedSpot for the last four years and counting. You also can hear her weekly in a segment called “Hot or Not?” in home design that airs nationwide on the Real Estate Today radio show as well as a weekly podcast. She is also the host of The Housing Muse Podcast – that covers the latest home design and real estate trends.

Baby Steps: Melissa is a natural journalist, she’s always curious, excited to learn of something new to share and loves to tell stories. She talks about her roles and the transition throughout her journalism career along with changes in her industry over the years. Melissa shares her journey of being single living in a big city, getting married living all over the country having built multiple homes over the years which has provided her with additional insights, content and additional experience to enrich her passion and body of work and sharing a the story of having a newborn living in the desert far from family and friends and what a unique experience that was for her. She is a creative, hard working Mom that has taken conference calls, podcasts from the car or closet! She is an inspiration to hear how her creative ideas or inspiration, practicing the skill of being versatile and taking action, even in baby steps towards making big things happen.
Adventurous: She talks about stepping out of her professional groups to find interest in other areas of her life such as an adult tap class or tennis group, which Melissa attributes to helping avoid burnout. Melissa also shares how she has embraced the variety of opportunities that come her way like the broadcasting, the game show like format that’s so fun, social media, her blog and now her podcast the Housing Muse. Melissa talks about all of her jobs led her to where she is today and helped prepare her with the strong skillset she has now. She also reminds us about how important it is to learn to work with all sorts of personalities. Her Silhouette of Success journey of her past knowledge of psychology, journalism, tough topics and trends have all brought her the varied experience of which she is very grateful. Own Your Voice: She calls herself a melting pot of inspiration. Melissa tells us that Stephen Gasque helped her learn to own her voice. At the time she was writing, and they began to enjoy some fun real estate Q & A in a taxi cab ride which led to her now co-hosting on a real estate talk show…just two weeks later, that has been 4 years now. Melissa was encouraged to step outside her comfort zone and find her voice. She isn’t just a writer…she has learned to step out into a new ideas and doors can open. She has learned that she can edit and create videos, create a podcast from scratch, create blogs, photo galleries and podcast covers…skill sets with failure as a part of learning-get a little uncomfortable, it’s important to growth.
