CONVERSATION HIGHLIGHTS
The Gift: Luck are those that have a special someone in life who takes the time to share with you their observations and encouragement to nurture one of your natural talents or gifts. In so many situations, we aren’t always able to “see” our natural gifts as others can. Karen’s story is remarkable, and because that gentleman helped her to recognize one of her true gifts, it changed her life! Let’s be clear, that gentleman helped all of us! The Punchline experience is another example of a turning point in her career path that once again, she was listening and took action. Watch out SNL! Karen provides us with many mini life lessons within this quick conversation of her Silhouette of Success story enriched with humor, full heart and soulful insights.
Identity: How about that factoid! She was a Dallas Diamond in WBL (Women’s Basketball League) I can picture it! Interestingly, Karen was in a position that many find themselves in; when we become one with what we do…it becomes who we are. She shares the reflections of transitioning out of the basketball identity and on to a new path. Courageous. In this, she began to be more in tune with self-awareness that has served her well. She also talks about what we can all get bogged down in…being true to ourselves. The struggle and sometimes significantly negative impact that not being true to yourself can manifest in our lives, and health.
Habits: She’s a creature of her current habits that is just like so many of us, working to adjust current habits, improve upon. She works to do the hard things first and gets plenty done but again, like most of us we have a running list of “To Do’s”. Karen shares that the reminders of slacking or making the life changes for your health cannot be just temporary. Humor helps so much to move us forward, we are grateful for her gift
