CONVERSATION HIGHLIGHTS
Back Yourself: Diana’s energy is contagious, she shares that when you know you are doing and operating in the calling of why you are here on the planet…you have joy. She is running her race and the shoes fit, you understand it and understand that frustration and fears appear as hurdles just as fear, they have their place but don’t let it overwhelm you. We all deal with the imposter syndrome, but she feels good about how she is and what she does. She believes in herself, works on flaws but it happy to blow her own trumpet. Don’t wait for anyone to validate you…validate yourself! She’s learned the hard way but she doesn’t let her emotions dictate or overtake her intellect. It’s a skill to learn.
Leadership: “Nobody wants to be led by a buffoon.” Study it, learn it…it’s possible but only probable if you dive in. She expects “it” to work because she studies fiercely and drinks it in. She see the effects of great leadership in children, her team, staff and clients. You have to learn the nuances of the team to allow for great things to happen. You fall or live by the quality of your systems. They must be solid to be sustainable. You cannot depend on feelings, emotions or charisma. Leadership is not done alone, build your relationships and a strong team. Diana talks about recognizing when the difficult conversation with a team member needs to take place; the quality of their work/delivery if they don’t reach then it’s time to plan their exit. Mediocrity undermines our leadership, the vision and the end customers.
M-I-C:
M=What shall we maintain in the system that is already in place or the way we are currently working?
I=What shall we improve, it’s okay but it could be better?
C=Change. We are not going to teak it or improve it. We are going to change it all together.
When you MIC your systems, your attitude or approach you are approaching it with intellect. People can recognize and buy into it. Then get to it!
INTENTIONAL INSPIRATION
Fear has its place in our lives but we give it too much power and influence. Limit the influence that fear has in your life. Don’t give fear power. Fear is fear. When you add power to fear, it will cripple you.
When women are flourishing, flying…we change the world.
