Corinne DeBra was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. A product of an artist and an engineer, who loved the outdoors, she grew up in a house where things were always being explored, built or created. She has been on a delectable journey of eating a different piece of chocolate for 14 years…which is 5,200 and something! She has been sharing her daily experiences in her blog Chocolate Banquet.
She’s in what she calls a “third phase” of her life, she has lived in the mountains, studied and travel the world. She spent time in the corporate work, was a US Congressional Analyst, she worked for technology companies. All the while her early experiences with nature, which had left an indelible impression on her life and art, tugged at her to go back outside.
She has exhibited her photographs in the United States and in Cuba and her work has appeared in books, journals, research papers, and is part of several private collections.
It’s a pretty sweet journey she’s on and Corinne shares with us a treasure trove of wisdom and thoughts for embracing our multifaceted interests. Take a walk with her around the San Francisco Bay and gain some new inspiration from her knowledge and experiences. Oh, by the way…she’s on her third walk around the bay! Let’s go…
CONVERSATION HIGHLIGHTS
Multi-Faceted: Sometimes when we have many interests, it might be perceived as jack of all trades or others may show concern for the us when one elects to purse the more creative paths. Crazy, broke-these are some thoughts that initially come to mind when artist come to mind. But it’s about timing and there is a vast array of that are under this umbrella. Embrace the multifaced of your interests! Making more connections helps with your versatility and a more well-rounded individual. I liked Corinne’s quote as it may apply to many “Multi-faceted person in a laser focused world”.
Success Teams: Corinne shares this concept by Barbara Sher, “Success Teams” to begin transitions find like-minded individuals for support. Sometimes you just go for it, respect the fact that you have individual passions that could lead to something. Feel confident in yourself and abilities to take those risks in pursuing your wild ideas, goals and dreams. Seek out people who help bring out the best version of yourself. Make time for the things you enjoy and desire to purse. It’s mainly about timing in our lives.
BigPictureTake care of all of the facets of yourself, your health and big picture skills. Go out away from all of the rectangles we are in front of so often.
Corinne shares how her Walk-n-Talks allow her to take a pause, mull over strategies and regain perspective! Walk the Bay, 1000 mile walk around the San Francisco bay trail that led her to a Board position…so take a walk! Oh, she’s on her third walk around the bay!
Eyes open to see the bigger picture, take risks, we are on a “Trust Walk” in this life. Ah, the “Goldilocks Zone” was great where she speaks about making sure you are working hard to build your quality of life and spend time on your infrastructure for security.
