THE AMBER WEITZER PODCAST SILHOUETTES OF SUCCESS | BLISS COULTER |
EPISODE 43 | SHOW NOTES
FEATURED GUEST
She is a Texas native, a dynamic, achievement driven Executive dedicated to helping women advance in their career. We are fortunate to connect with her as she has just transitioned from her role as CEO of The Ladder Alliance into her new role as President and CEO of The Women’s Business Council Southwest! In her first two years there, she doubled the amount of operating cash, tripled the operating reserve, transformed the annual golf event, increasing new attendees by 80%, decreased expenses by 10%, as well as received the “Best Place for Working Parents” award from the former Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price. During this same time period, she grew the fundraising budget by approximately 225%, making it the most successful fundraising period in the history of the agency. By placing substantial emphasis on capacity building, scalable and equitable community change, and broadening the existing funding portfolio, The Ladder Alliance has seen the largest growth, both programmatically and financially, in its 18- year history under Mrs. Coulters’ leadership. She earned her Master from Texas Women’s University and her Bachelors from the University of North Texas. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas and a National Certified Counselor-member of the Fort Worth Rotary Club, Women Steering Business, and the Women’s Policy Forum…and when the work day is done, she enjoys time with her wife Ashleigh, their son Stetson along with their horses at their ranch.
CONVERSATION HIGHLIGHTS
Leadership: Bliss recognizes that she has an inner desire to help people and help them make a change in their life. She describes it as it “speaks to her heart” and her core. In sharing her Silhouette of Success story, Bliss is extremely proud of the nomination and award that was achieved under her leadership of “Best Place for Working Parents” from the former Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price. It’s a true testament to her leadership. In addition, she is very proud of instituting bi-lingual programing that now allows for a broader reach for an entirely new demographic within the community. Once again, speaking to her core of helping to make change in someone’s life. She was able to identify a significant gap, understood that diversification of the programs, getting creative in their business to find solutions thus creating opportunities that extended the outreach. Sure there were adjustments to the operation, yet the overall outcome was both monumental and inspiring!
Hey Friend: “She’s never met a stranger” as her Mother would tell her and how fortunate are we! Bliss speaks to all of the amazing mentors, relationships and devoted close friends who have really helped to influence or be there to help support or be a sounding board. She has a very strong faith and grounded in spirituality. Bliss talks about navigating the waters of change from the recent pandemic and even over the last few years in general. She talks about surrounding herself with people of like minds to help become more creative and innovative in business partnerships which allows her to think about what’s next…with this mover-n-shaker, it is limitless!
Intentional: She is goal driven with a good dose of spontaneity! Something she has been focused on intentional actions to help instill more balance in her life. She talks about finding clarity of the need and reaping the benefits of intentionally “working” on getting it right. She finds that she is at her best when she is able to feel that sense of peace when the major components of her life are in sync….home life, work life, personal time. She is just as competitive in her personal life and her professional and is very active in barrel racing or at a rodeo on top of one of her Quarter horses and Mustangs. She loves the speed, the connection with her horse and the decompression time…she does recognize when it’s time to pull back the reins, slow down little. Enjoy the successes says Bliss!
