“If you were born with the ability to change someone’s perspective or emotions, never waste that gift. It is one of the most powerful gifts God can give-the ability to influence.” -Shannon L. Alder
What did you take away from hearing Carla’s Silhouette of Success story? Did you take notes too? I was absolutely intrigued by her youthful curiosity to consciously participate in theater because she realized it was a path to both assist her with her introvert tendencies but moreover, explore other possible personality styles of others or for her while in character. Fascinating. So much of the passionate, purposeful mission for me to bring all of the Silhouettes of Success women to light for all to benefit in the way I have by our paths crossing is in small part this…to showcase the real-life aspects of each yet, the in common point, experiences, thoughts, struggles and successes that we can relate.
Carla struck a chord in my heart in her story when she talked about theater, some of my fondest memories were centered abound theater and the stage although I will tell you to this day that I prefer to be “backstage” versus on the stage in a spotlight (now, one of my brothers will argue this point, but that’s another story!). The stage and the environment allow for a release of fears and struggles to explore, the atmosphere invites a neutral playing field and embraces versatility. There wasn’t a full-on thespian within me, although it could have been a possibility. I adore the fast pace, the inner workings to bring it to life and all that goes with the stage and theater. The faces of the audience, the music and fanfare. It’s a gift if you are able to see it early, it’s a treasure when you are able to appreciate it later and it’s invaluable to pass it on to help uplift another. I could relate to Carla’s reflections and appreciate her sharing her story to cast light on the memory as an inspirational reminder.
