EPISODE 46
SILHOUETTE OF SUCCESS | SORORITY SESSION
In this Sorority Session:
Sharpen your pencils, turn up the tunes…it’s Power Hour!
Let’s review the Conversation Highlights:
Proof | Power Hour | Explore
Ladies…grab your favorite cup of something, sharpen your pencils, turn up those tunes (tune out the distractions..ha, unless tunes distract you!)-let’s rock the next hour!
Sarah inspires when she shares that her children inspire her, they inspire her to be available and present…so how does she take action to do her best to make that happen…structure! She has a structured day, she time blocks. She talks about having time for business, family and walking her naughty dog (which was a hoot-n-howl that he cameoed on our show!) to explore and recharge.
Structure, systems in place, time blocking are valuable best practices to maximize the time you have, to be as efficient as possible. We may all have different tactics in place and truly whether is a power hour of focus, a regimented and protected morning or a mixture of structure and spontaneity…it’s consistency in your plan/day that counts. If what you are doing, is working well for you with stellar results…then thumbs up! If you find that your days are more stressful, disorganized or you aren’t able to focus-make some changes to support successful results versus just trying to get through the day. This topic is an entire industry in itself but we can be encouraged by Sarah’s daily system and put into practice some best practices or tweak parts of her routine. As a long time coaching client, staunch advocate for Mike Ferry…it’s all about a daily routine and protecting your schedule (whatever that looks like for you!) and eliminated or ignoring the plethora of distractions that find us or we even seek out!
- Calendarize everything (home/work/personal)
- Set alerts to start and finish(task/project/goal/appointment)
- Set up your environment for successful focus
- Prioritize
- Stay disciplined
- Release yourself of guilt to commit, are I say overcommit “No” can be a complete sentence!
- Stay consistent in your schedule; trade the habit of chaos for the habit of consistency
Start small but start!
Begin today by blocking out ONE HOUR to set up your new scheduling system, don’t firehose yourself with an extreme regimented unrealistic schedule…the idea is to implement something so you can be consistent and create the habits that will support you in success and allow you the down time to be present, inspired and successful.
It’s a work in progress, it will be modified as you find what works well for you, for your day and needs. Cheering you on, let’s do this!
